Ruins Along the Inca Trail

Llactapata, early in the first day's hike.

Runkurakay was a lookout fortress. It is pre-Incan construction.

It has the shape of an egg with several different sections.

Our tour guide doing his best to explain about the ruins
in English.

Here you can vaguely see the egg shape of Runkurakay.

Climbing the stairs to Sayaqmarka. These ruins are also shown in the following 5 pictures.

France, Sweden, Sweeden, France, United States,
Sweden, Holland, Sweden.

The alcoves housed their dieties made with
precious silver and gold.

One more view of Sayaqmarka.

Intipunku—the Sun Gate. Matchu Picchu is just around the corner.

There are many beautiful flowers along
the Inca Trail at this time of year.
