Rainbow Over Plaza de Armas 12.9.09
Link to the pictures on facebook

I met with my canadian friend today and his brother to play some music. It rained hard this morning and I wasn't sure what we were going to do.

After meeting at their case, we headed for the plaza where we played until huge raindrops started falling all of a sudden. Lots of Peruvians stopped and seemed to enjoy the music. We had a mandolin trading off with guitar, my guitar and a set of "pretty good sounding" bongos.

We headed for a covered corridor but it turned out to be a municipal center and the kind officer pointed us to the other side of the Plaza de Armas where he told us it would be ok to play.

While under the corridor, Estaban took off to take some pics in the rain. When he returned I asked him if there was a rainbow because there was beautiful sun shinning in the mist of it all.

We headed toward the plaza and when we got to the corner, I was blown away by the sky. At first I saw just one rainbow but it was unusual in that it had extra arch's. I walked a bit further taking pictures and the second rainbow appeared.

I will let the pictures tell the rest of that story. The last picture is of a man who was sitting with his wife on the steps a little ways away, really enjoying our music. Finally he came over and we figured out that he wanted to play the mandolin.

I had such a great time playing and singing and dancing around. I think it brought a lot of joy to the surroundings.
